HEATON, Mary (nee Fazekas) - Passed peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on February 25th, 2013. Mary was born on November 8, 1922 in Petnehaza Hungary. She moved to Canada with her mother, sister Margaret and two brothers Jimmy and Steve to join her father when she was 5 years old. Everyone who had the pleasure of spending time with her will remember Mary as a vibrant and loving conversationalist; knowing she cherished her euchre nights as a member of the Army, Navy and Airforce club. A true fashionista, she often donned in the colour purple, including the fully accessorized outfits. Mary had a heart of gold and always made sure she put others before herself including the time she spent crocheting scarves for the homeless and cage blankets for the animals at the SPCA. She was thrifty, courageous and not afraid to speak her mind. We all knew better than to argue when her mind was made up! Mary is survived by her 5 children Linda (Gerry), Jean (Greg), Barry, Laura (Doug) and Philip (Gina). She is predeceased by her first-born infant son Philip James Bourgeois and her loving husband Bert. She will be missed greatly by her 11 grandchildren and 12 (+2 on the way) great-grandchildren. Mary was an unforgettable Aunt. She shared a special bond with all her nieces and nephews who cared for her deeply. Her close friends and confidants are too numerous to list, but they will mourn as passionately as her family. There will be no other like her. We will be forever thankful for the precious memories. The family welcomes visitors to a fragrance free visitation at the HILL & ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, from 12-1p.m. on Friday, March 1st, 2013. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Mary requested donations be made to the Brant County SPCA.
