Diane, Kevin and Darryl - We will remember Sam for his hearty laugh and his ability to make the best of all situations. I remember meeting Sam for the first time at the Burrill reunion and thinking what a breath of fresh air to add to our family. His jovial nature and love of life were an inspiration to us and I'm sure to many more. We will miss him.
Dear family members, I had the opportunity of meeting with Sam on only a few occasions but he impressed me with his dedication to the community that he served for such a long period of time. He was and will be in the future an inspiration to those that follow him. My deepest condolences at this time. Barb Walsworth President Shellard Neighbourhood Association
Dianne, Kevin and Darryl We are very sorry to hear about Sam's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and will be in the days ahead. With deepest sympathy, The Reid family
We are very sorry to hear of Sam's passing. We enjoyed seeing and talking with him out on the baseball field. The kids will really miss him. He was the nicest man and Devon was looking forward to another season on his team. God bless you Sam and rest in peace.
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Sam. When I think of Sam I remember our much earlier, younger days of working together at Westcam in Brantford. Later years, we were reacquainted through the BNA of which Sam gave unselfishly of his time and energy. His many "early out of bed" days in the cold harsh winter months to go and flood the rink at a local park are just one example of how willing he was to give of himself so others could enjoy life with their family and friends. Brantford has lost one of their most caring--dedicated volunteers, these shoes will be tough to fill. Rest in peace Sam, your generosity will never be forgotten. Sandi, Will,Robin and Deanna
Dianne, Kevin & Darryl, we feel some of your pain. It's not easy for you. But I believe it is soothing to know that Sam will be missed by his friends as well. Our family will cherish the bond we have had with your family, which started back in Brandon, Manitoba around 1982. Since our move to Ontario (your family and ours in 1988) our friendship has created fond memories. We have always admired the community spirit that Sam and Dianne have had, and which continued from Brandon to Brantford. Sam was always willing to help! Winston remembers his dedication to work and to family. He was professional right to the end. Sam, you will be missed for a long time!
Diane, Darryl & Kevin Sorry to hear of your loss----your Husband & father was a terrific guy. He was mentor and leader to so many in our neighbourhood. During his years of working with the Branlyn Neighbourhood Assoc Sam touch the lives of so many and had a positive influence on many of the children & adults he worked with. The many hours he put in to his volunteer work and didn't think twice about it. Helping others and making other people happy was his life. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of it. Thank-you ! Time to rest now Sam !!!! We will miss you ! The Connely Family
Diane,Darryl and Kevin: I am so sorry for your loss. Sam was a great guy. Going to miss him dearly. All my love Charlene, Vicki and Robert Foster
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sam. We have known him for years through the Goodwill Bowling League and later were re-aquainted through the Branlyn Neighbourhood Baseball Association. Sam was a "doer" and will be deeply missed. He was always helping out, and was a truly great coach. Winning last year's Rookie Championship was mainly due to Sam's persistance and fair coaching. Many more championships may be won or lost, but now, last year's seems more important and special. Rest in peace my friend. Randy, Sylvia and Addison
My deepest sympathy to the family in the loss of their loved one. I knew Sam through the Branlyn Neighbourhood Association and will miss seeing him at the ball diamond. He was always the forever volunteer and his good natured personality will always be remembered and missed by all who made his acquaintance.

Sam will be missed by all whose lives were touched by his wonderful zest for life and his great sense of humour. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. God-bless, Martha Cookson and family
