I knew Doris as Robin's mom and then as Brock and AJ's grandma. It was clear to me that her life was centred around her love for Jesus and her children and grandchildren as she could be heard bragging about both. I didn't know Doris very well, but I can tell you that she loved to laugh and to give great big bear hugs!!! She also loved to pray and I know that her prayers for her family will continue to live on and be fulfilled...
Doris was also an excellent sewer. Twenty years ago Doris volunteered to sew me a white skirt to wear in a dance for an Easter Play. She designed it, picked out the material,sewed it, and presented the almost finished skirt to me. It was beautiful!!!I could never imagine a more perfect skirt to dance in. I was so grateful for this white skirt which was a real labour of love from Doris. I have worn the same skirt over all these years and still wear it to dance in as it has never lost its "perfectness". When I heard of Doris' passing I thought of the skirt that she made for me so many years ago, and now it has an even dearer place in my heart. And by God's grace when I wear the skirt to dance I will think of Doris and give thanks for her fruitful life. Thank you Doris
