Obituary of Gottfried "Fred" Schmidt

Schmidt, Gottfried "Fred" Passed away at his home on Sunday, Feb. 26th, 2017 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Christel for 20 years, and the late Liselotte (Lilo) Schmidt. Loving father of Karen (Greg) Rambo, Wilfred (Brenda) Schmidt, and Tina (Mark) Wichmann. He will also be fondly remembered by Mario (Eva) Schmidt, of Germany, and Renate Ley, of California, Brent (Jen) Schmidtz, Hannah and Kate Schmidtz, and Sybille Steuck, Ina Tyc, and Tim Reinhardt, all of Germany. Fred's family would like to thank the caregivers from CCSC (ParaMed), with special thanks to Dr. Hadley, Irene, Denise and Michelle. He was well known for being the owner / operator of Schmidt Motors in Mt. Pleasant. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson St., Brantford on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 from 4 - 6 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
