Dear Joletta and Tim

I was saddened to read of your Mom's passing. I had the privilege of meeting and working with Carole at Brantwood who never stopped caring and advocating for people she supported over the years. I enjoyed her sense of humour which at times would catch me off guard. I would occasionally see your Mom at FreshCo (before her battles) and was amazed when she shared she was still working and supporting individuals so they could attend community events. Truly an amazing women.

My thoughts and prays are with you and your families at this difficult time.

I was saddened to read of Carole's passing in the Brantford Expositor and offer my sincere condolences to her family at this sorrowful time. I had not seen Carole for 66 years until she came to the visitation for my mum on her passing eight years ago. Even given the sombre occasion it was a pleasant surprise to spend if only a few minutes sharing memories with Carole of the time in 1948 when we both were six years old and our picture was taken with calves on Don and Edna Newstead's farm a stone throw down the gravel road from our farm on Robinson Road where I grew up a mile north of Mount Vernon. My thoughts and prayers are with Carole's family at this sad time.

My condolences to you and your family. I met Carol through our work at Brantwood. I can attest that she was fierce in her advocacy for our most vulnerable community members. Carol always had a smile on her face and her quick wit often had me laughing. I appreciated the stories she would tell me about the people that we supported, sometimes they were funny, sometimes heartwarming and at times sad; but they helped to keep me connected and focussed on their needs. The hours and schedule of her work would have been difficult for her family as it would often interfere with holidays, however her family can be proud of the contribution Carol made to better our community.

Q: How did you meet Carole?

A: My dearest mother in law who was the most amazing lady, thank you mom for everything, heaven gained a really special angel. This is just one memory of thousand that I have with you.

She always made sure I had every experience that I didn't have when I was young. She really cared and paid attention to every detail in every gift. She new I loved this Ashton drake doll it was a Andy doll and it was far away when we saw it. She new I loved it but will 2 small kids I just didn't have the money. I already had a Brandon doll so a Andy doll would have just been amazing. Well come Christmas sure enough I don't know when or how she did it she got all excited when I got the wrapped box and started yelling timmy get the camera get the camera, and guess what was inside that box? My Andy doll. And that was the person my mother in law was. She wanted to make her loved ones happy and she would go out of her way to make sure she did.

Q: How did you meet Carole?

A: We met Carole over 40 years ago when we moved in across the street from her.

We shared many coffee hours and lunches out, with occasional evenings out with her and Bernie.

She was the greatest friend and l feel privileged to have known her.

Carol was a great neighbour for almost 40 years. She had a sense of humour,and was kind . We socialized over the years including Christmas when we'd go to each other's homes. She had a great knowledge of Brantford history and was a wealth of knowledge about many things not the least of which was gardening.
