Obituary of Adrian Vanderschee

Vanderschee, Adrian - Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital. The Lord called him home on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 in his 82nd year. Born to Pieter and Willemyndja Vanderschee in Maasdyk, Holland. He attended a school for Agriculture and played for the local soccer club. He learned to play the accordion, and speak the German language at age 15. He worked in the greenhouses until he joined the Dutch Navy, where he served two years. Adrian left the Navy to find work in the greenhouse world in an area of Holland known as The Glass City. Following that Adrian immigrated to Canada at the age of 29, where he picked up both the French and English languages while living in Montreal. Later he moved to Brantford where he played soccer for one season with the Brantford Falcons. For many years after that he played the accordion at the International Village Festivals and various church community meals. Adrian was a small business owner and operated Adrian's Painting, Decorating and Small Repair. He was a volunteer at Big Brothers of Brantford for many years. Though he never had any vision or desire to be married or have a family, he did, however, garner many friends over the years. Adrian is predeceased by his brothers Wijnand and Frank of Holland. He is lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Maarten and Ineke, Jaap and Corry, Arend and Janie, Joke (Wijnand), Greet (Frank) and nieces and nephews all of Holland. Adrian will also be missed by his extended family in Canada. Friends will be received at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson Street on Monday, November 13th from 10:30 am until 11:30am. A service will be held in the chapel at 11:30am. Burial to follow at Salt Springs Church Cemetery, Brantford. Donations in memory of Adrian can be made to the Brantford Blessing Centre or St.Joseph’s Lifecare Centre.
