Obituary of Vicki Szlek

SZLEK, Vicki Lamont (nee Walker) - Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital after a lengthy battle with COPD, on Tuesday, December 24th, 2013, in her 70th year. Beloved wife of Zigman Szlek for over 40 years. Loving mother of Shannah (Lucas) Fair, Tara (Paul) Medlar and Michelle. Devoted grandmother of Leigha Fair, Jenna and Chloe Medlar. Fondly remembered by her sister Heather (Wayne) Creeden and her brother John (Susan) Walker. Predeceased by her parents Stafford and Elizabeth "Mickey" Walker, her uncle John Lamers and her aunt Agnes Lamers. She will also be dearly missed by many other family members and friends. Thanks to the staff of the Brantford General Hospital, especially the CCU, her Personal Support Workers, the CCAC and Revera Home Health; their care made both Vicki's and my life easier. Lastly many thanks to our daughters Shannah and Tara for their never ending support and assistance. At Vicki's request cremation has already taken place. Friends will be received at the Hill & Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson Street, on Friday, January 3rd, 2014, from 10-11 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
